Circuit City - RIP

We went there to see what was in stock over there and what happened that was bad.

Saturday afternoon - should have been busy but there were more salespeople than shoppers. Nobody I looked at was buying a big ticket item - all small sales.

No mention of the bankruptcy - a banner claimed they were hiring. (Somehow I doubt that)

Lots of DVDs and CDs in stock - I knew CD sales were a waste of time, I didn't know that DVD sales were a waste of time now, but clearly they were at Circuit City.

I checked the price of a phone I recently purchased for the house - $110 at Amazon, $150 at Circuit City - that's a bad sign.

Lots of Guitar Hero / Rock Band stuff for all the game systems - lots of inventory there - not a good sign for the games makers that those arent moving, but then again Black Friday hasnt come yet.

Lots of HP laptops and desktops in stock and big screen TVs - both Sony and Samsung seemed to be very well represented on their walls.

Bad for Sony on PS3 + DVD + CD + HDTVs
Bad for HP on PCs
Bad for whoever makes Rock Band and Guitar Hero
Lots of WII accessories too - bad for Nintendo
